Workshops

Interactive workshops -- from one-hour to a full-day -- designed to empower participants to implement or further develop the service-, peace-and-justice, or morality/values dimension of their programming. Workshops combine important theoretical considerations with practical strategies for teaching key concepts, attitudes, and skills, as well as information about curriculum resources.

  • the meaning and practice of "service-learning"
  • the meaning and process of "peace and justice" education (note: can be adapted to focus on a particular set of such issues, such as economic justice, peace/violence, or inclusion/discrimination)
  • the meaning and practice of "key principles of Catholic social teaching"
  • the meaning and process of moral/values formation

Workshops can be adapted for either secular or religious-faith-based settings.

History

Since the early 1990s, Kevin has presented quite a few workshops on such topics at a regional, state, and national level. Evaluations have been consistently strong, and he has frequently been asked to present in the same setting in subsequent years.

Cost

Organizations are asked to pay a stipend that they can afford; the Center seeks other funding sources to supplement these stipends.
